01 / The question
Product problem
How might a credit team identify changes in leverage and debt-service capacity before they become portfolio-wide concerns?
02 / The response
Proposed solution
Bring exposure, leverage, watchlist share and debt service coverage into a single scenario-based view. The working Credit Risk Command Centre demonstrates this interaction with synthetic inputs.
Methodology
- Define the decisions and KPI conventions before designing the interface.
- Use a fixed synthetic exposure of $2.40bn and two explicitly illustrative scenarios.
- Compare changes in leverage, watchlist share and DSCR without implying a predictive credit model.
Intended user outcomes
- Intended outcome: a shared view of portfolio deterioration for review discussions.
- Intended outcome: faster navigation from high-level metrics to questions requiring investigation. These benefits have not been measured in production.
Lessons from the concept
- Scenario assumptions need to sit alongside the metrics.
- A dashboard should prompt a credit conversation, not replace professional judgement.
